Modern particle and astroparticle physics experiments are typically located at large research laboratories such as CERN, LNGS or Fermilab and are constructed and operated by numerous research institutions. A crucial aspect of the education our fellows is the direct work at the experimental site. All fellows of the RTG are therefore strongly encouraged to spend up to six months during their thesis either at the host institution of their experiment, or at the institute of a collaboration partner.
